Vinter en dag

Det snöade idag. Känns sisådär efter temperaturer runt 12 grader den sista veckan. Dock var det ju tre plusgrader och blötsnö som smälte nästan så snart den landat på marken. Fast det hindrar ju inte belgarna att få panik vad gäller bilkörande och trafikstockningarna börjar så fort den första snöflingan dalat ner. Såhär rapporterade man imorse. Lägg märke till bilden som ju verkligen ser ut som värsta snökaoset. Eller inte... Det måste vara en kulturell sak...

Snow triggers traffic chaos

 Mon 05/03/2012 - 10:17Heavy snowfall is causing problems in several places across the country. Traffic jams are longer than usual and there have also been a spate of road accidents.

The Kortrijk area of West Flanders was first to bear the brunt of the snow-related problems. Part of the E17 motorway between the French city of Lille and Ghent was snowed under. Later snowfall was recorded across the country bringing road traffic to a standstill in many places. Accidents were reported on the Brussels Antwerp motorway, but by 8:30 CET the motorway had been cleared.

Motorists travelling from the easterly province of Limburg to Brussels experienced the worst of times. Drivers reported delays of up to 2 hours on their journeys. Congestion on the roads is easing, but jams are still a possibility here and there.
